Order Pickers

An order picker brings the operator up to the load instead of bringing the load down. For warehouses pulling individual cases out of racking, it replaces the ladder-and-cart routine that costs time on every pick and puts staff at height without a platform. Choosing the right order picker

Size the lift height to your top pick level, not your rack height. You need the platform to reach the highest shelf an operator actually picks from — which is usually well below the top beam. Over-buying height adds cost and turning radius you will not use.

Semi-electric or full-electric? A semi-electric picker powers the lift and is pushed by hand. It suits lower-volume picking over short distances, and lands at roughly a third the cost of a full-electric machine. A full-electric picker drives as well as lifts, so the operator stays on the platform through the whole cycle rather than stepping off to reposition — the difference shows up quickly once you are doing dozens of picks a shift or working long aisles.

Capacity is about what you carry, not what you lift. Most case-picking sits comfortably inside 330 lb. Step up to a 660 lb platform when operators are staging multiple totes at height, or handling heavier single items like parts bins and motors.

Check the aisle before you check the spec sheet. Turning radius on these units runs 63″ to 67″. Measure your narrowest working aisle and your lowest doorway or mezzanine clearance — lowered height matters as much as raised height if the unit has to move between buildings.
